A dairy farm manager without the milking!

Embryo transplant is at the heart of the Bellevue business of creating New Zealand’s elite Dairy and Beef animals. Their Te Miro Farm Manager is one of the most important roles in the process, as the quality surrogate animals shape the quality of the progeny. The Te Miro Farm Manager ensures New Zealand’s best embryos are going into the best surrogate animals.

At the Te Miro farm you will oversee 900 surrogate cows over 300Ha with another team member and support from an experienced Management team, easing you into the role and providing growth opportunities and support into the future.

The role will suit someone that:

  • appreciates a dynamic, elite and supportive work environment;
  • enjoys a challenge without milking;
  • thrives in an environment with plenty of opportunity, support and mentoring;
  • has a desire to be a part of a technologically, genetically and agriculturally elite performing business; and
  • is looking for a change, career development and to be involved with an awesome team.

Things that will help you to be successful in this role are that you’ll:

  • know cow reproduction like the back of your hand;
  • like a farm system that well manages cows, making sure they are in optimum condition for mating;
  • have experience in the dairy industry or other relevant industry making you a cows and grass expert;
  • be organised and can manage a few moving parts and people;
  • be happy teaming up with vets and other technical specialists to get the best shot at getting excellent results

In short, you’re experienced, great with customers and team members, you’re dairy cow and dairy farming smart, and above all, you’re looking for a role where the results are highly visible and subject to getting all the bits of a dynamic system working well together.

Located at Te Miro, 20mins from Cambridge and with a great local school, this job also ticks the family and lifestyle boxes and included is a recently renovated 3-bedroom house.  You can expect to be involved in all the normal dairy support type of work with pasture and feed management being key areas of focus.
